Family and friends gathered to welcome the latest bundle of joy to enter into the Hood family ... Miss Avery. I can't wait to become an Auntie! This baby girl is so blessed to have so many who love her already ... we showered her mommy on Saturday. In case you were wondering, Avery's mom and dad are my brother and sister-in-law, Daryl and Alexis. I was able to snap a few photos of the day to share with my crafting friends.

Of course, the Hood gals (honorary or not) are super excited to add a little more pink into the family. We clean up nice, but don't think for a second that this little one won't be afraid to get a little muddy from time to time. ;)
Alexis and Daryl
My siblings live atop this beautiful mountain and lucky for us, the shower landed on a sunny fall day.
Alexis and Kate
This is Kate, Alexis' sister. She did a great job planning the event and even threw in a couple crafty touches ... I was impressed! :)
The baby clothesline decorations were a nice touch!
Kate even made a bath scrub for guests to take home ... aren't they adorable!?
If you know my family well, you will already know who made the cake. Brett's aunt does a marvelous job! Looking for a cake?
Cakes by Susie in Littlestown, Pa., is my recommendation for sure!
I'm not the only one in the family with a crafty-bone. Check out this afghan Mary crocheted. It's as soft as it looks and matches the nursery.
Nancy (MeMaw) and Alexis
It's been a tradition of my mom's to make a stepping stool for newborns welcomed into our family tree. She painted this all freehand and added a cute pink ruffle!
Well, by the end of the day all of us felt a little like this cutie! ;)
